TDP supremo N. Chandrababu Naidu’s selfie on social media showing him walking on an ultra smooth road came in for criticism by the ruling YCP leaders.
The selfie showed Naidu, in his usual off-white trousers and a full-sleeves shirt, walking upstraight on a tar road to which the YCP men began ridiculing him for promoting YCP president and Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s efforts in improving infrastructure.
Some other YCP leaders thanked Opposition leader Naidu for acknowledging the good work done by Jagan.
While the selfie by Naidu aimed at informing the electorate about the type of development works that would be taken up by him to put Andhra Pradesh on the path of progress, if voted to power, the YCP men gave a completely different narrative to the picture.
It may be recalled that Telangana IT minister K.T. Rama Rao had pinpointed about the bad roads under Jagan’s rule, at a public gathering in Hyderabad. These remarks triggered the YCP men to react and tell KTR that he mind his own business than poke his nose into affairs unnecessary to him, and that too concerning the neighbouring state.
Jana Sena chief and actor Pawan Kalyan also lambasted the YCP government for failing to lay roads even when their condition was very poor. A year ago, he even did Sramadaanam and tried to cover up potholes on roads catching a spade and trying to fill gravel into the holes.
In the wake of such harsh criticism by both the opposition parties in Andhra Pradesh and the ruling party of neighbouring state, Naidu’s selfie walking on a perfectly smooth road was used by the ruling YCP to indicate to the electorate how Naidu and his party men distort truth and project lies before the media.
