West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said that TDP boss N. Chandrababu Naidu’s arrest seemed vindictive. “I did not like that approach,” she said.
She also made a mention of Enforcement Directorate summons to her party MP Abhishek Banerjee in connection with the school recruitment scam.
“Chandrababu Naidu was arrested in connection with a scam. This is not good. If there is any irregularity or allegation, you should examine, inspect and investigate but being vindictive is not fair. Such an approach might boomerange in the coming days,” she said.
This statement from Didi is being made viral by the TDP cadre with comments that YCP president and Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy would face music in the coming days for this revengeful act.
The Jana Sena and the Andhra Pradesh unit of BJP also condemned the arrest of former chief minsiter of Andhra Pradesh.
TDP senior leaders including Yanamula Ramakrishnudu, M A Shareef, Kavali Pratibha Bharati, Dhulipalla Narendra, Kanna Lakshminarayana, Pattabhi Ram Kommareddy, and others met in the party office to discuss recent developments.
Naidu was lodged in the Rajahmundry Central jail after the ACB court judge sent him to 14-day judicial custody.
The TDP cadre called for a bandh following the verdict and their party chief being lodged in a jail.
Reportedly, Naidu would be in the central jail till September 30.
