Latest Developments in Chandrababu’s Case in HC

Published by

In a significant turn of events surrounding TDP chief Nara Chandrababu Naidu’s legal battle, the Vijayawada ACB court recently dismissed a petition seeking his house custody.

Simultaneously, another petition was filed in the AP High Court to quash the FIR against Chandrababu. The High Court, which recently took up the petition, has issued crucial orders, including an adjournment of the hearing on the quash petition to the 19th of this month.

In response, the AP CID has instructed its officers to file a counter in relation to the quash petition. During the proceedings, Chandrababu’s legal team requested that he should not be handed over to CID custody until Monday.

The High Court granted their request and ordered the CID not to seek Chandrababu’s custody until Monday, citing the need for a comprehensive hearing on the matter. These directives were made during the hearing of the petition filed in the High Court to quash Chandrababu’s remand order and FIR.

Advocate AAG Ponnavolu Sudhakar Reddy represented AP CID, while Chandrababu was represented by Siddharth Luthra, Dammalapati Srinivas, and others. Furthermore, an additional petition has been filed in the High Court seeking anticipatory bail for Chandrababu in the Amaravati Inner Ring Road Alignment case, with the hearing scheduled for today.

Additionally, the High Court is set to hear a lunch motion petition filed by former Advocate General Dammalapati Srinivas, seeking the cancellation of Chandrababu’s remand report in the Skill Development Scam case. Chandrababu has received a significant reprieve in the High Court, as he will not be in CID custody until Tuesday.
