In what can be a blow to the ruling BRS and Telangana CM KCR, Malkajgiri assembly constituency sitting MLA Mynampally Hanumanth Rao has called it quits. In a video byte, he revealed that he is leaving the BRS party. He hasn’t announced his next move. He indicated that he would be soon revealing about the next political party he will be joining. It is no longer secret that Mynampally would be joining the Congress party.
Interestingly, Mynampally’s name was among the first list of BRS candidates announced by CM KCR for the 2023 general election. With Mynampally resigning the BRS, CM KCR has to look for a replacement from the BRS for the Malkajgiri assembly constituency. As per reports, Mynampally got assurance from the Congress to field him from the same Malkajgiri assembly constituency.
The issues of Mynampally started when he sought a ticket for his son Rohit from Medak constituency. When the BRS denied Medak seat to Mynmpally Rohit, he lost his cool. He made severe comments against Harish Rao. BRS leaders including KTR had severely condemned Hanumanth Rao’s remarks against Harish Rao.
Since then, there have been speculations about his resignation to the party. It was expected that he would join the Congress in the presence of Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi during the recent CWC meeting held in Hyderabad. However, Mynampally didn’t agree to this back then. Finally, he has bitten the bullet by giving a jolt to the BRS.
