Telangana Assembly Speaker Pocharam Srinivas Reddy has made stunning comments against AP opposition leader Chandrababu Naidu’s arrest. Speaking at an event, Pocharam opined that there is no space for political vengeance. He said, “I’m strongly condemning the arrest of Chandrababu Naidu. Acts like these should not happen in the country. In a democracy, the administration should not resort to such political arrests.”
Citing a sloka in Bhagavad Gita, Pocharam said, “Geeta says rather than practicing revenge, forgive people. Forgiving is a gentle and benevolent act.” He further added, “Mistakes do happen. Maybe a mistake was made earlier. But forgiving is the best. Revenge is not correct.” Pocharam’s comments are straight and direct towards AP CM YS Jagan and his government.
Pocharam said making comments, allegations and personal remarks are part and parcel of politics. He said those should be limited and confined to words. He said he won’t react to the personal comments made by his opponents against him. Pocharam said those who shout would lose their voice. As AP politics is burning, Telangana Assembly Speaker’s advice comes with a lot of maturity and age.
