Nara Lokesh, is set to reportedly recommence his ‘Yuva Galam Padayatra’ next week. The yatra, which initially began at the Kuppam Assembly constituency, is slated to traverse 100 Assembly constituencies and conclude in Srikakulam, covering approximately 4,000 kilometers across the state.
Lokesh decided to temporarily halt the yatra at Podalada in Razole Assembly constituency of Konaseema district after Chandrababu Naidu, was arrested in connection with the AP State Skill Development Corporation (APSSDC) scam case. However, Naidu’s legal team has initiated the bail process, aiming to secure his release.
Currently stationed in Delhi for legal consultations and discussions with political leaders to garner support for Naidu, Lokesh held a virtual meeting with TDP seniors. He has opted to resume the padayatra from Podalada, simultaneously continuing the legal battle against what he deems as Naidu’s ‘illegal’ arrest. Party leaders emphasized the importance of maintaining morale within the cadre amidst Naidu’s ongoing detainment, suggesting that Lokesh’s resumption of the padayatra could serve to rejuvenate the TDP members.
Additionally, the TDP has planned a door-to-door campaign to inform the public about what they perceive as the wrongful arrest of Naidu in the skill development scam and the alleged ‘vindictive policies’ of Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. The party has formed a political action committee, in line with Naidu’s direction, consisting of 14 members, including Nara Lokesh and other key party figures.
In a related development, NTR district police erected barricades at the inter-state border with Telangana, attempting to deter IT professionals from traveling to Rajamahendravaram to show their support for Naidu. Despite these measures, some professionals managed to reach Rajamahendravaram, where they met with Naidu’s family members.
