The long-awaited beautiful cable bridge of Durgam Cheruvu is inaugurated today by KTR along with central minister Kishan Reddy. The bridge is expected to reduce the traffic congestion in Madhapur and Jubilee hills, also by becoming an attraction in Hyderabad, as it is the world’s second-largest cable bridge.
The bridge is built with Rs 184 crore rupees and it is 754.38 meters long. The bridge is completed with a 20-meter height on both sides of Durgam cheruvu, while the bridge took 13 foundations. The stay cables were brought from Austria and the construction is so environment friendly that it was built on just two pillars. Engineers from eight countries were part of this construction team.
The distance between Jubilee hills and Mindspace and Gachibowli could be cut down by 2 km with this bridge and the 40 LED lights on it remain a special attraction. The state government is planning to develop the bridge and surrounding areas as the tourist visiting spot.
The Durgam cheruvu bridge remains closed on Saturday and Sunday, while the tourists and visitors are allowed on the weekend only by walk.
