Telangana minister K.T. Rama Rao made some critical statements against the arrest of TDP supremo N. Chandrababu Naidu.
Speaking to the mediapersons, he took exception to the protests and rallies led against Naidu’s arrest in Hyderabad.
He informed that TDP national general secretary N. Lokesh called him up and asked why was permission not being given to rallies in Hyderabad. “What should we do with the law and order problem if there is any trouble,” KTR asked Lokesh on the phone.
“Chandrababu Naidu was arrested in Andhra Pradesh. If dharnas are to be staged, then they should be done in Rajahmundry, Kurnool, Guntur or somewhere else in AP but not here. Is Hyderabad a platform for Naidu’s protests? In what way are Naidu’s arrest and Telangana politics linked,” he asked.
The minister said that in case of any law and order problem during the protests, the Telangana police would have to get involved in bringing back normalcy, he said.
Further, he said that Naidu’s arrest was a fighting between two parties in AP. “Both the parties do not have any presence in Telangana.”Then why should the “panchayati” of the issue be held here? Chandrababu is waging a legal battle. When the issue is subjudice, is it good to comment about it in the public,” he asked.
Lokesh, Jagan and Pawan Kalyan are all my very good friends. I do not have any problems with them. Why should their problems be highlighted here, he questioned.
KTR reminded that even during separate Telangana movement, permission was not accorded to stage protest demonstrations in the IT corridor.
