The notification for the elections is not out yet but the political parties in Telangana have already begun distributing freebies to the electorate.
Now, media reports suggest that A national party reportedly set the ball rolling and distributed cars to some important leaders and mandal presidents, apart from some sulking sarpanches. Further, they were also given Rs 50,000 as monthly payment.
In Dubbak mandal, which was won by the BJP during the bypoll a couple of years ago, sarees and umbrellas were distributed to several women voters while men were given only umbrellas. These freebies reportedly had the picture of MLA Raghunandan, who won the bypoll in 2020, printed on them and they were distributed to the villagers in Thoguta, Mirdoddi, Doulatabad, Rayapol, Chegunta, Narsing mandals.
The constituency has a total of 1,92,293 voters and 97,637 of them are women. Sarees worth Rs 1000 and umbrellas were distributed among these women voters.
According to the reports, the freebies are being distributed in a function hall belonging to the regionally strong community in Siddipet.
It is learnt that a national party is getting ready to distributed Rs 2000 to each voter. One key voter has been appointed to keep track of every 200 voters in the constituency. The key voter is learnt to have given Rs 10000 to each house in his limits. There are plans to give Rs 2000 to each voter in houses having more than 5 votes, in addition to several other nazaranas.
With this amount of cash and freebies flowing into the constituencies, ahead of the elections, the electorate can expect even more sops to be showered on them in the coming days.
