Former chief minister and opposition leader Chandrababu Naidu, who is sent on judicial remand in connection with a skill development scam case, is struggling with poor living conditions inside jail. Despite several requests to the officials and jail authorities, Naidu is allegedly provided minimal basic facilities. The mosquito problem is one of the major concerns for 73-year-old Chandrababu inside the prison. There is said to be no air conditioning for Naidu, although officials claimed otherwise.
Now, when wife Nara Bhuvaneswari visited Chandrababu recently as part of Mulaqat, he reportedly stressed the persistent problem of mosquitoes and asked her to bring him a mosquito bat. This moved wife Bhuvaneswari, family members and other party senior leaders. Recently she shared this incident with closed ones. Given his stature as a senior citizen and a national leader, there is a growing sentiment that Babu should be granted better living conditions during his time in detention.
Meanwhile, YSRCP leader and former minister Kodali Nani ridiculed Chandrababu’s issue of mosquitoes inside jail. Nani said, “If not mosquitoes in the jail, will Rambha and Urvashi come and dance?” However, Nani’s critical comments garnered mixed response from netizens and social media.
However, TDP leaders are highlighting the fact of dengue severity inside jail premises. Recently, a prisoner infected with dengue succumbed to it and died. Citing this issue, TDP leaders are demanding provision of minimal and basic facilities of Chandrababu inside the jail and stressing that everyone is innocent until proven guilty.
Chandrababu has sat on hunger strike inside prison. Protesting Naidu’s alleged illegal arrest, wife Nara Bhuvaneswari, son Nara Lokesh and TDP leaders are on hunger strike. The politics in Andhra Pradesh have intensified with the latest developments.
