With the arrest of former Chief Minister and TDP supremo Nara Chandra Babu Naidu a few days back, politics seems to have reached a boiling point in Andhra Pradesh as members of both the ruling and opposition parties started hurling abuses at each another quite often during media interactions. The latest altercation sparked when former minister and member of TDP, Bandaru Satyanarayana Murthy made derogatory remarks on YSRCP MLA and Tourism Minister Roja Selvamani.
It is a known fact that Bandaru Satyanarayana was arrested a couple of days ago for his sexist remarks on Roja and also for his foul language on CM Jagan Mohan Reddy. While the YSRCP condemned his foot-in-the-mouth remarks, the TDP launched a counter-attack on the ruling party and its leaders by sharing old videos in which Roja and others used unparliamentary language against the TDP Chief and his family members.
Telugu Mahila President of TDP, Vangalapudi Anitha lashed out at Roja for her hypocrisy and asked her not to shed crocodile tears. She questioned Roja about her silence when some of the YSRCP leaders made unsavoury remarks against Nara Bhuvaneshwari, wife of CBN during assembly sessions in the past. She further condemned Roja’s sickening words about Nara Bhrahmani in her recent press meet.
Anitha also questioned Roja’s ethics for maintaining stoic silence when women in her own party were abused and mistreated. Anitha asked Roja to not forget her abusive behaviour in assembly sessions and the way she spoke about TDP leaders during media interactions.
While the TDP cadre is defending Bandaru’s remarks as a tit-for-tat approach and started sharing some old videos of Roja and other leaders, the YSRCP is trying its best to highlight the remarks and put the opposition in the bad books of the people.
