TDP boss and former Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu reportedly is suffering from dehydration due to the high temperatures and lack of an AC in the cell he was lodged in Rajamahendravaram Central Jail. For more than a month, Naidu was lodged in the prison on judicial remand following his arrest in connection with the skill development case.
However, the Prisons Department DGP Ravi Kumar rubbished the reports and said that there was no truth in the news. At the same time, minister Gudivada Amarnath said that both the TDP sympathisers and cadre should remember that Naidu is not on a vacation in the lap of the nature but in the jail. Further, he said that Naidu was trying to gain sympathy by asking the ‘yellow media’ to publicise such news. The satirical comments from the minister evoked some criticism from the TDP cadre.
It is learnt that a medical team has also been called for to render treatment to Naidu. It is unfair to arrest our leader without proper evidence and now, making such remarks against the 73-year-old leader is further deplorable. The YCP has never given any respect to old-aged people or to their experiences, they said.
Now, the YCP should remember that its utter disrespect towards veterans will only degrade the image of the party in the public. Such negligent remarks will reflect the party’s discipline and lack of ethics in its functioning, said political analysts.
