With elections drawing near, the YCP has decided to shift to top gear in influencing the electorate. As part of it, the government has decided to provide benefit to every family, identified to be among underprivileged, in the state.
According to sources in Tadepalli, the various government schemes aimed at the welfare of various sections of the society are reaching the beneficiaries in 1.5 crore families of the total 2.5 crore in the state. So, the YCP government is planning to benefit the remaining 1 crore families which have not received any schemes. It is learnt the Jagan is holding discussions with key leaders and the advisors about how to implement the plan, which can be either finding an alternative scheme or making them eligible for one of existing schemes.
The YCP government is designing a strategy to complete this task in the next three months. In the next 15 days, volunteers and gruha saradhis would conduct an extensive survey and identify the families which had not benefited from the government schemes. There is also a plan to bring the caste equation also into the picture. People belonging to the Kapu, Kamma and Reddy communities would be given importance in selecting the beneficiaries, so as to reduce the dissatisfaction among them.
At the same time, the government is also planning to reduce the state surcharge on petrol as the public are already angry over the rise in price. Through these measures, the YCP government is trying to appease all sections of various communities in the state, and also counter the opposition criticism that all schemes are scams under the YCP rule.
