Pawan Kalyan’s Delhi tour regarding Telangana elections

Published by

With just over a month left for the much-anticipated assembly elections in Telangana state, Pawan Kalyan’s Janasena party seems to have finally decided to take the plunge by fielding its candidates in some constituencies against the ruling BRS party and the main opposition, the Congress party.

Though Pawan Kalyan himself announced in October that Janasena will contest in TG polls this year, there has been a lot of uncertainty within the party cadre because of the lack of a concrete plan of action so far. He now finally appears to have made up his mind to enter the fray with the support of the BJP.

According to the latest reports, Pawan Kalyan headed to Delhi this afternoon along with Kishan Reddy in a special flight to meet the top brass of BJP and finalize the candidates who will contest in Telangana. In the next two days, Pawan will meet Amit Shah and JP Nadda to discuss various aspects like number of seats to be contested by Janasena in alliance with the BJP and make a formal announcement.

Last month, some prominent JSP leaders of Telangana met Pawan and expressed their willingness to contest in elections this time. They recalled that the party backed out in the 2018 elections and also didn’t contest in the Hyderabad corporation elections because of its alliance with the BJP and requested Pawan to not withdraw from this assembly elections at any cost.

As TTDP reportedly decided to stay out of the contest, it is expected that they may indirectly support the JSP-BJP alliance in these elections.
