2023 Elections: KCR ‘izzat ke savaal’!

BRS chief K. Chandrasekhar Rao is slogging to register victory in the upcoming elections. It can be said that he is considering the 2023 elections as ‘izzat ke savaal’.

Political analysts said that KCR is working much harder for the 2023 elections than in the past – 2014 and 2018 polls when he did not step out into the field till the filing of nominations was complete.

At that time, he campaigned only in a select few districts. In 2014, the BRS poll plank was Separate Telangana and in 2018, he banked on ‘Is AP leaders’ governance necessary’ and influenced the voters towards his party.

This time, KCR is already into the field, addressing public meetings and making whirlwind tours even when the nomination process is yet to begin on November 7. Though he had been in power for 10 years, KCR is being forced to be on his toes to influence the voters and gets votes for the BRS, political analysts said.

Further, competition for the Telangana CM seat has grown this time. KCR is also confronting other issues like family rule, injustice in sharing of water, funds and appointments (neellu, nidhulu, niyamakalu), over which the opposition parties are criticizing the ruling BRS.

In addition, with the party being registered as a national party, it has to contest Lok Sabha elections at least in 2-3 states.

In the wake of the existing situations, KCR is toiling round the clock to emerge victorious in the Assembly and Parliament elections.
