In a departure from the norm of politicians hosting grand pre-election gatherings, a significant shift unfolded as an immense crowd gathered to organize a grand event in honor of a leader who finds himself behind bars due to political circumstances. This exceptional occurrence pertains to Chandrababu Naidu, the leader of the Telugu Desam Party.
On the occasion of the 25th anniversary of Hi-Tech City Cybertowers, the IT workforce in Hyderabad decided to pay tribute to the ‘IT father’ of the city and former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Nara Chandrababu Naidu. They convened a special assembly under the banner of #CBNGratitudeConcert, on a Sunday evening, drawing a massive turnout of IT professionals in a collective gesture of support for Naidu, who is currently detained within the confines of Rajahmundry Central Prison, amid what many perceive as a vengeful act by the authorities.
Traditionally, political events organized by a leader attract their dedicated supporters. However, in this instance, fans of the Telugu Desam Party and Chandrababu Naidu transcended their political affiliations to express their gratitude to the man responsible for charting the Information Technology future of their region. Notably, prominent figures such as members of the Nandamuri family, including Vasundaradevi and Lokeswari, as well as individuals like YCP MP Raghurama Krishnam Raju, Bandla Ganesh, and Boyapati Sreenu, joined the event to stand in solidarity with Naidu.
As Naidu has overseen the creation of an information technology ecosystem that has positively impacted the lives of millions, the overwhelming turnout at this event may be indicative of the support he could garner in the forthcoming elections.
