Vijay Sai Reddy’s caste remarks on Purandeswari have kicked up a political debate. In fact, YSRCP’s own leaders are expressing their mixed response on Vijay Sai Reddy’s comments. Vijay Sai Reddy has questioned Purandeswari’s stand on Amaravati and dragged the ‘caste’ topic into the whole issue.
Posting Purandeswari’s interview to Eenadu paper where she has strongly supported Amaravati as state capital and demanded justice for farmers in Amaravati, she went onto found fault with the state government. She even expressed that the state High Court’s verdicts and directions reflect the governance of YCP-led government. Now these comments of Purandeswari have irked its Rajya Sabha MP and party’s national general secretary Vijay Sai Reddy posted, “Is Purandeswari National Leader Or Caste Leader?”
Several negative comments poured in for Sai Reddy’s tweet. YCP’s own netas too opined that Sai Reddy’s comments are in bad taste. Some have even raised that Purandeswari’s husband Daggubati Venkateswara Rao was given YSRCP MLA ticket in 2019 polls. He had contested from Parchur Assembly constituency on YSRCP ticket and lost to TDP candidate. However, Daggubati Venkateswara Rao and his son Hitesh were sidelined by Jagan and they have subsequently made an exit from the party.
Now, netizens are asking Vijay Sai Reddy and his social media team to have restraint over the language and words they’re using. Sai Reddy’s tweets have always been controversial. Earlier, he has made sharp comments against BJP leader Kanna Lakshminarayana and now he has targeted Purandeswari.
Meanwhile, Purandeswari’s supporters allege that Sai Reddy is extremely upset that GVL Narasimha Rao’s removal as National Spokesperson and Purandeswari is elevated as BJP General Secretary.
