Former CBI JD VV Lakshminarayana’s encomium on the YCP government for focusing on two crucial sectors — education and health, have become the talk of town, led to speculation that he would join the party. Responding to the buzz, Lakshminarayana clarified that there was no truth in the propaganda and urged the people not to waste their valuable time entertaining such news.
He said that he would take part in awareness camps for voters but not join the YCP.
The former CBI JD said that he was attending the alumni meeting of at Srisailam and incidentally, YCP MLA Silpa Chakrapani was also touring in the same place. “I went to the MLA to invite him for the alumni meeting and at the same time, he too invited me for the ‘Jagananna Suraksha’ programme,” he said.
“Just because I spoke about the medical camps and the government programmes, it is not fair to spread rumours that I would contest the elections on a YCP ticket.”
It is pertinent to note that there is buzz that Lakshminarayana would contest as an independent for the Visakhapatnam MP seat in the 2024 general elections.
