The BJP released its third and final list of candidates contesting for the 2023 elections in Telangana.
Of the total 119 seats in the state, the BJP has agreed to leave eight to the Jana Sena, with which it has an alliance.
Significantly, casino king Chikoti Praveen, who joined the BJP recently in the presence of Telangana leader and BJP national vice-president DK Aruna, was also given party ticket from Kodangal, which means TPCC president Revanth Reddy will be his rival.
The BJP released its first list with 52 candidates. Then the second list was released with AP Mithun Kumar Reddy’s name. Mithun is the son of former MP Jitender Reddy’s son.
Now, the party has released the list with 66 names of which 8 seats have been allocated to the Jana Sena as part of seat sharing.
With this, Telangana people can expect to see Jana Sena chief K. Pawan Kalyan at public meetings, as he is likely to campaign both for the BJP and his own party candidates.
The eight seats for which Jana Sena would contest include Medak, Tandur, Kukatpally, Nagarkurnool, Kodad, Pinapaka, Aswaraopet, Wyra.
All the eight seats have many Andhra settlers residing in those places and the allocation of such seats to Pawan’s party will help one understand that the BJP is targeting those votes too, which in the future, could help the party make inroads into neighbouring Andhra Pradesh.
