Jubilee Hills – KCR Brings MIM To Stop Azharuddin

Published by

Recent developments have sparked discussions and analyses within political circles regarding the MIM’s decision to expand its participation in the upcoming elections.

Historically, the MIM has limited its contests to just seven assembly constituencies in the Old City, despite receiving proposals and pressure to expand its reach.

Initially, MIM’s President Asaduddin Owaisi had announced the party’s intent to contest in 20 constituencies statewide, especially in areas with a significant Muslim population. However, this plan seems to have been set aside, with no active efforts in that direction.

Recently, the MIM revealed its intention to contest in Rajendranagar and Jubilee Hills constituencies within Greater Hyderabad, in addition to the seven constituencies in the Old City.

This means that MIM is set to participate in all nine constituencies in the upcoming elections. The decision to compete in two new constituencies, Jubilee Hills and Rajendranagar, has raised questions.

One possible reason behind this expansion is that the MIM is preparing for a friendly contest with its ally, the BRS. Reports suggest that there is an emerging narrative that the MIM is fielding candidates to strengthen its position within the BRS alliance. It’s worth noting that in the Old City, BRS candidates have been participating in a friendly contest against MIM candidates, and a similar approach is expected from the MIM in return.

Furthermore, both Jubilee Hills and Rajendranagar have seen a significant amount of opposition to BRS candidates. Surveys indicate that if the entire opposition unites behind a single candidate, it could pose a challenge to BRS candidates. And Congress announced former Indian cricket captain Azharuddin as its MLA candidate in Jubilee Hills, this brings MIM into picture. MIM puts their candidate in Jubliee hills which can divide enough number of muslim vote share, which directly helps BRS candidate.

The MIM seems to be taking precautionary measures to prevent anti-government votes from drifting toward the Congress. While MIM is contesting in two new constituencies, its strategic approach appears to be aimed at securing the interests of the BRS.

Ultimately, whether the MIM’s expanded contest is a friendly gesture or a strategy to prevent vote division and benefit the BRS will be revealed in the course of the election.
