TPCC chief Revanth Reddy termed Errabelli Dayakar Rao as a betrayer and blamed him for his imprisonment, indirectly hinting that he acted as a covert in the vote-for-note case. He said that he had to go to the jail after Errabelli joined hands with their rivals, supposedly pointing out at the BRS leadership.
Revanth was addressing the Congress Vijayabheri Sabha in Palakurthy. He fumed at Errabelli for neglecting the sarpanches even when they were dying by suicide, though he was the panchayat raj minister.
“For the last 40 years, Errabelli had been the monarch of Palakurthy being the minister. For 17 years, he had been the MLA and minister of this constituency. In the last five years when he had been panchayat raj minister, he never cared to call the sarpanches and speak to them even when they staged protests and resorted to suicides, specially those in the lambada thandas and adivasi gudems. The sarpanches became frustrated after their bills remained unpaid, he said.
The reservoir construction which began at Rs 360 crore had shot up to Rs 700 crore and Dayakar Rao swindled up to Rs 250 crore. “While Dayakar Rao family kept looting, Rajender Reddy family kept donating,” Revanth said.
From Dealer Dayakar Rao, he had transformed into Dollar Dayakar Rao in the last 40 years. He started life as a ration dealer but now possesses hundreds of acres. At the same time, he made investments worth crores in America and asked the people to think about the logic behind it.
Palakaurthy has a history of leading struggles and Chakali Ilamma, who confronted ‘doras’ with bravery, belongs to this place and it is time the people in this area draw inspiration from her, he said.
He urged the people to exercise their franchise in favour of the Congress in the upcoming elections.
