In the election affidavit, interesting disclosures have come to light regarding the candidates. Former MP Vivek, running as a Congress candidate in the Chennuru Assembly constituency of Manchiryala district, mentioned in his affidavit that he provided a loan of Rs 1 Crore to Telangana CM KCR, Rs. 10 lakhs to Ramalinga Reddy and a loan of Rs. 1.50 crores to Congress leader Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy.
Vivek revealed that he had received a total of Rs. 23.99 crores as personal loans and declared assets worth 600 crores. In terms of assets, this former MP stands as the wealthiest politician in the state. He also noted that his wife, G. Saroja, has assets amounting to Rs. 377 crores and investments in various companies and media organizations.
Following this, former Congress MP Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, a candidate for the Paleru seat, stands as the second wealthiest candidate, with assets totaling Rs. 460 crores. Interestingly, CM KCR, who is contesting from Gajwel and Kamareddy, disclosed in his affidavit that his family’s assets amount to Rs. 59 crores, and notably, he does not own a car. However, he acknowledged owing Rs. 1.06 crore to former MP Vivek.
Party officials speculate that financial transactions may have occurred between former MP Vivek and CM KCR during his tenure in BRS, and the debt mentioned might be related to these transactions, which were not settled during the TRS party’s plenary in the past.
