With the polls drawing near in Telangana, political parties are pinning high hopes on making it to the half-way mark in the Assembly. Now, which party would win the elections is a big question.
In a latest survey by the Lok Poll, it was reported that the Congress would win the Assembly polls with 46 per cent vote share. The Congress would win anything between 69-72 seats, while the BRS would get confined to 35-39. It is a very hard for the BRS to at least get 40 seats, the report said.
Coming to the BJP, though it is claiming that it would win the elections, registering victory in at least 3 constituencies will be a Herculean task, while the MIM would win from 6 constituencies, according to the report.
The survey report also stated that the Congress would bag 43-46 per cent of votes, while the BRS would get 38-41 per cent of the votes. Though the BRS would secure 41% of votes, it is hard for the party to win as many number of seats.
During the last elections, the BRS secured 46.78 per cent of the votes and this time, it would drop by 6 per cent.
The Congress, which secured only 28.43 per cent of votes during the 2018 elections, is predicted to perform better and secure nearly 46 per cent of the vote share.
This time, the BJP would secure nearly the same percentage of 7-8 votes as it had done in the last elections. Significantly, the BJP would be able to secure only the hard core votes while others are likely to show inclination towards the Congress.
It is pertinent to note that the Lok Poll survey proved right during the Karnataka elections, held in May this year. The survey predicted 134 seats for the Congress and 65 for the BJP and the prediction proved right.
Ahead of the elections in Telangana, the survey is estimating that the Congress would win the polls securing 72 seats.
To know the veracity in these predictions, one has to wait till December 3, when the counting of votes is scheduled.
