Here is a big setback for the ruling BRS party in Telangana, just days before crucial elections. The Central Election Commission has issued instructions to withhold the funds for the Rythu Bandhu scheme, considered highly prestigious, until the elections conclude. These recent directives have been communicated to the state government, dealing a significant blow to the ruling party’s preparations with only two days left until the polls.
A few weeks ago, the Congress party raised concerns with the Central Election Commission regarding the release of Rythu Bandhu funds. Upon examination, the commission found no issue, as the scheme has been ongoing for quite some time. However, with elections scheduled for the 30th, the state government has been directed to release the funds under this scheme by the evening of the 28th of this month.
The BRS government had made extensive preparations for this release, set for the 28th of this month (Tuesday). However, the situation has now sparked a renewed political controversy. The opposition Congress has lodged a complaint with the Central Election Commission regarding the campaigning activities of ruling party leaders during election meetings. As a result, the Central Election Commission has imposed a stay on the release of these funds, indicating that the funds can be disbursed after the elections.
