We are just one night’s sleep away from getting to know the public mandate in the Telangana elections. Will KCR complete a hat-trick by becoming the chief minister for the third time? Or will Revanth Reddy gain one over his arch-rival KCR and lead Congress to a victory? We are virtually hours from knowing the answer to these questions.
Firstly, Telangana, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, and Madhya Pradesh election results will be out tomorrow(3rd December). The counting will start at 8 AM. The postal ballot votes will be counted first, followed by the counting of EVM votes.
Telangana has 49 counting centers with a total of 1766 counting tables. The EVMs from all 119 constituencies, carrying the Telangana public mandate have been shifted to the 49 counting centers where they are being safeguarded by protection and security personnel from 40 different companies.
The first round of counting is expected to be completed by around 10:30 AM. These results will give a projection of what could follow. The early leads will give a ballpark of which party is faring well and could form the government.
There are a total of 2290 candidates who are testing their luck in this year’s election. According to the EC, Telangana has seen 71.34% polling this year which is less than the 73.74% from last year.
All in all, in just a few hours from now, Telangana will either have a new chief minister for the first time in its 9-year history or KCR will make it through for the third time in a row. The exit polls are clearly hinting at a Congress-led government though.
