The much-anticipated assembly election results of Telangana state were out by Sunday evening and the Indian National Congress won the people’s mandate to unseat the ruling BRS party. As per the official data of ECI, Congress won 64+1 seats and BRS was confined to just 39 seats. While the BJP secured 8 seats, MIM retained its 7 segments.
Out of the 119 seats, it was like a one-horse race in some constituencies with the winning candidates dominating the counting from the very first round. In some constituencies, there was an intense see-saw battle till the end of the last round and candidates won barest of the margins.
Let’s see the highest and lowest margins of victory in these elections.
1. BRS MLA KP Vivekanand from Quthbullapur constituency secured the highest majority with a staggering margin of 85,576 votes.

2. Former Minister T. Harish Rao from Siddipet won with the second biggest margin with 82,308 votes.
3. AIMIM leader Akbar Uddin Owaisi won with a margin of 81,660 from Chandrayangutta segment.
4. Madhavaram Krishna Rao from BRS secured a decisive majority of 70,387 votes in Kukatpally constituency.
5. Vemula Veeresham from INC won with a difference of 68,839 votes in Nakrekal.
Top 5 Lowest Margin of votes
1. Kale Yadaiah of BRS party prevailed in a close battle with a slender difference of 268 votes which is the lowest of margins in this elections. He contested in Chevella segment.
2. Jaffar Hussain of AIMIM won the Yakutpura seat with a margin of 878 votes.
3. Thotha Lakshmi Kanth Rao of INC clinched victory at Jukkal with a margin of 1152 votes.
4. Gavinolla Madhusudan Reddy of INC emerged victorious with a difference of 1392 votes in Devarkadra.
5. Mohammad Majid Hussain won Nampally seat by 2037 votes. He represented the AIMIM party.
