The Congress government is reportedly considering the removal of officials who held key positions during the KCR regime in Telangana. This has led to intense lobbying among IAS officers aspiring for the Chief Secretary (CS) post.
While some officers are engaging with Delhi Congress leaders, others are seeking support from state-level Congress leaders. The fate of the current CS, Shantikumari, is uncertain, as discussions within secretariat circles revolve around whether she will continue in her role or be replaced.
There are reports of IAS officers, such as Shashank Goyal and Ashok, currently serving in central positions, expressing interest in the CS post. Despite not holding priority posts in the KCR government, they are now lobbying, hoping for favorable consideration under the Congress regime.
The Congress party has decided to transfer IAS and IPS officers appointed during the KCR regime to safeguard key positions. This includes the likely transfer of officials like Municipal Secretary Arvind Kumar, Industry Secretary Jayesh Ranjan, and CMO Secretary Smita Sabharwal.
The tenure of Shantikumari, who assumed the role of CS approximately ten months ago, is under speculation. There are ongoing campaigns suggesting that she is lobbying, with support from a retired IAS officer within the Congress, to retain her position.
Additionally, discussions hint at possible changes in the police force after Revanth Reddy assumes the role of CM, with rumors of the appointment of new officers. Speculation includes the potential appointment of Rajiv Ratan as the new DGP, while there are rumors about Additional DG officer Shivdhar Reddy being considered for the role of Intelligence Chief.
