After seeing the anti-incumbency in Telangana, AP CM YS Jagan seems to have taken a lesson or two. As per reports from reputed media outlets, Jagan is likely to deny the MLA tickets to nearly 50 sitting MLAs in the coming elections in Andhra Pradesh.
Reportedly, Jagan received a few ground reports on the current situation in AP and he identified that there are several non-performing MLAs. Betting on them would be a losing bet and Jagan is not in the mood to take the risk with them.
Jagan was already planning to change 25 MLAs, reportedly, but with Telangana results in mind, he has instead decided to let go of 50 MLAs. Firing 50 MLAs before the election is a very risky move as it could cause an open insurgence and the fired MLAs working against the party, but Jagan is willing to take this bet, it appears.
As a part of this shuffling, a few MPs might be brought onto the scene for MLA elections and a few of the fired MLAs could be sent to parliamentary elections.
Many YCP MLAs, including Anam Ramnarayana Reddy, Kotamreddy Sreedhar Reddy, and Mekapati Chandrasekhar Reddy have been working against the party as rebels. Mangalagiri MLA Alla Ramakrishna also left the party today. This could be an indication that Jagan has indeed indicated his MLAs about his ‘firing’ plan.
