Since Tuesday morning, there have been rumours that one of the most popular IAS officers of the KCR-led Telangana era, Smita Sabharwal, is leaving Telangana soon and is looking at going to Central Services. As the shuffling of IAS and IPS officers generally happens after new governments form, many thought this is true. But here is the response from the officer itself.
“I see some news channels have reported a fake news- that I am going for central deputation, which is widely circulated. It is totally false and baseless.”, tweeted Smita on her social media page, condemning the rumours. Also she added that she will continue to be in the state only. “As an #IAS officer of Telangana cadre, I will continue to serve and execute whatever responsibility the Government of Telangana deems fit for me. (sic)”, her tweet further read, as she adds, “Am proud to be part of the journey of my state”.
We have to see what post and duty the Revanth Reddy led Congress government in the Telangana state will now assign to Smita Sabharwal. Earlier, she was Secretary to CM, Government of Telangana and holds additional charge as Secretary, Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Department (Mission Bhagiratha Department).
