KCR To Try His Luck As MP From Medak?

Published by

The bitter rivalry between Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and his predecessor K. Chandrasekhar Rao is playing a vital role in Telangana politics.

According to sources, KCR has decided to contest for the Medak Lok Sabha constituency in the upcoming general elections. There is buzz that KCR of sure shot victory in this polls as the BRS is strong in the district. During the recently concluded Assembly elections, the BRS won six of the total seven Assembly segments.

It is being speculated that KCR might not enter the Assembly as long as Revanth Reddy is at the helm of affairs, for the ill-treatment meted out to the latter when the BRS was in the ruling benches. KCR had not allowed Revanth at least to air his opinions in the Assembly by either cutting off the power to his mike or sending him out of the House. During the last one month of the Assembly sessions, he even suspended Revanth from the House.

Now, with the current trend of revenge politics being followed by the leaders, it could be said that Revanth will never forget the past. The ruling Congress and the Opposition BRS might not be using cuss words against each other but the ‘cold war’ is apparent if one follows the Assembly sessions closely. BRS leaders KTR and Harish Rao seem to have not yet shed the power and pride associated with being in the ruling benches, their speeches evidently revealing the same.

Both KTR and Harish Rao are going on digging deep into the past and lambasting the Congress for all the wrongs done during the rule of former PM Indira Gandhi or flaying the party for the faulty policies being followed in neighbouring Karnataka.

It is for the same reason, the Congress leaders are continuously reminding the BRS honchos that their comments should stick to post bifurcation of the state. “The state was divided basing on allegations of disparity in the economic and social conditions in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.”

Further, they are iterating that Telangana which was in surplus during bifurcation had dropped to abysmal levels only due to the BRS rule under the leadership of KCR. In such a situation, it is being said that KCR might not like to face Revanth in the Assembly. Hence, he is chalking out plans to contest as an MP candidate and shift to Central politics.
