YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has become ruthless when it comes to MLA ticket distribution. He is either relocating many of the sitting MLAs to different constituencies or calling the unlucky bunch of them and saying to their face that he can’t give them tickets. All this is based on Jagan’s survey reports. Jagan has now shown the exit door to three MLAs in Kakinada district and they are ready to jump to alternative parties.
Pithapuram:
Pendem Dorababu is the sitting MLA here as he won on YCP ticket in 2019. But Jagan has intimated to him he is not in YCP’s plans for 2024. The complaint is that Dorababu couldn’t get public approval, according to Jagan’s survey reports. Dorababu was apparently warned by Jagan a couple of times in the past but he didn’t improve, so Jagan axed him in 2024 plans. He is already working on a move to JanaSena and has communicated his intention to Pawan Kalyan. If he gets a nod from PK, he is likely to leave YCP and go to JSP.
Jaggampeta:
Jyothula Chanti Babu is YCP’s sitting MLA here. He too has understood that Jagan is not likely to give him the MLA ticket. So he has come in touch with TDP leaders and is ready to make the switch once he gets approval from Chandra Babu. He has locked 5 January as Muhurtam for his switch.
Prathipadu:
YCP’s Purna Chandra Prasad too has been shown the exit door by Jagan. The sitting MLA from Prathipadu has caught the intentions of Jagan and has started to contemplate the switch to the Telugu Desam Party.
