Tension gripped Guntur during the New Year celebrations, particularly surrounding the inauguration of Minister Vidala Rajini’s office in Vidyanagar. Appointed as the in-charge of Guntur West Constituency, Rajini faced an unexpected disruption as TDP-Janasena workers attacked her office the night before its scheduled inauguration.
The incident unfolded with activists performing a Palabhishekam at NTR’s statue near Rajani’s office, followed by a rally where some individuals threw stones at the building, causing damage to the windows. Promptly responding to the situation, the police arrived at the scene and employed lathi-charging to disperse the crowd. Several TDP and Janasena workers were detained in the aftermath.
Addressing the attack, Rajani expressed her dismay, emphasizing the premeditated nature of the assault. She pointed to the significant size of the stones used and vowed not to let the perpetrators go unpunished. In response to the security threat, heightened security measures have been implemented at Rajini’s office by the police.
