Telugu Desam Party veteran Kesineni Nani has been having a love-hate relationship with his party leaders and particularly Buddha Venkanna for the past few months. He has now commented about his candidacy in the next election.
Amidst the power battle for Vijaywada West constituency between Buddha Venkanna, Jaleel Khan, and MS Baig, veteran Kesineni Nani has confirmed that he and his family won’t be in contest here. He made an indirect statement against Venkanna, with whom he has historically had differences.
Nani said “Vijaywada West constituency is for minorities and BCs. I and my family will not contest here. A few people are trying to loot money from Jaggayyapeta and Vijaywada west. I won’t let that happen. If I’m not in TDP, these people will readily loot public money here. I will stick to Vijayawada MP candidacy and I won’t let anyone loot the money.
Nani announced his support to MS Baig who is a favourite to get Vijaywada West MLA ticket from TDP. His latest comment could be an indication that he will do everything in his power to stop Venkanna from getting the ticket here.
On the flip side, Venkanna too has his own influence internally in TDP. But can he overpower Nani to get the desired MLA ticket from here? TDP hasn’t won this segment since 1983, so in 2024, they will definitely pick the best candidate from here.
