It is never a good sign when a ruling party keeps losing MLAs continuously before the election. This can show the public that the ruling party is facing severe anti-incumbency right from the internal level. Sadly for YCP supporters, this phenomenon is happening with the Jagan party now. After Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy, Anam Ramnarayana Reddy, Undavalli Sridevi, and most recently Alla Ramakrishna Reddy, yet another MLA has left YCP.
YCP MLA from Rayadurg, Kapu Ramachandra Reddy who was once a fierce loyalist of Jagan Mohan Reddy has officially quit the party. He submitted his resignation to the YCP high command today.
Ramachandra Reddy said Jagan stabbed him from the back by making him believe all is well and then rejecting the MLA ticket at the last minute. He expressed his anger at Jagan for not even giving him the appointment for the last few days. He issued an ultimatum to Jagan by saying he would contest as an independent from Rayadurg and win at any cost. He vowed to field his wife from the Kalyanadurg constituency.
Losing so many MLAs before the election can lead to a rebellion and if these MLAs contest against YCP candidates in the election, they will deplete the YCP vote bank which will again hurt the party. But Jagan is not bothered about this as he only trusts his survey reports and gives tickets entirely based on these reports.
