Revanth Reddy embarked on a remarkable campaign with Congress and led the party to power in Telangana. He has now sat down for the famous Open Debate with ABN Radhakrishna and discussed a wide array of topics regarding Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, and national politics. He had an intriguing comment about Jagan Mohan Reddy.
When RK asked Revanth how he feels after serving as the CM for a month, Revanth said it is a work in progress and he is learning to improve himself and enhance his skills to serve the public. He vowed not to be disconnected to the people like KCR which eventually led to his drastic downfall.
“I was sure that KCR wouldn’t win this election. He should have stepped away and sent his son to fight in the assembly. But his ego didn’t let that happen and he came by himself, only to be taught a lesson by Congrss. I don’t have anything against him at personal capacity.”
About going to visit his arch-rival KCR in the hospital, Revanth said he is a human first and wanted to provide all possible support to KCR who was in a distressing situation.
Here comes the most important transcript from the conversation. Revanth revealed that Jagan Mohan Reddy didn’t even make a courtesy phone call after he got elected as the CM. “It is a custom tradition that we wish the neighboring CMs when they win the election, but Jagan hasn’t called me till now. He instead went to meet KCR. I find it strange, but I’m not the one to judge.”
“I will sit in front of Jagan and discuss important prospects regarding AP-Telangana bifurcation settlement matters. Nothing is above the welfare of Telangana and its people.”
Revanth revealed that Jagan and KCR want Modi as the PM while he wants Rahul to become the PM. Nevertheless, Revanth appreciated Modi and Amit Shah for obliging to his requests in his recent trip to Delhi. He revealed that Amit Shah allotted 10 IPS cadre officers to Telangana immediately after he requested.
Revanth vowed to roll back the district division done by KCR and added that a proposal on this front will be presented in the next budget session.
About AP politics, he vowed to provide all possible support to his fellow party leader Sharmila, who he confirms will lead AP Congress.
There are many other interesting tidbits in the interview and Revanth was very candid with his replies. He addressed sensitive topics like relation with Jagan, rivalry with KCR, and hopefulness towards the central government with calculation and a clear modus operandi. RK too brought up several interesting topics. All in all, this episode of Open Heart With RK featuring Revanth offers blockbuster experience to political followers.
