After all that has been going on for the last 5 years, AP CM YS Jagan’s plan of enforcing 3 capitals will remain only a dream for him in this tenure. A single-judge bench of the AP High Court stalled the AP government’s plan to shift the government offices from Amaravati to Vizag. The AP government then challenged this in front of the full bench at the AP High Court and the case came to hearing today.
However, in a big disappointment to the AP government, the AP High Court refused to overrule the order of the single-judge bench and didn’t entertain the plea to go ahead with shifting government offices to Vizag. The High Court ordered the AP government to follow the orders of the single-judge bench which is to stop the shifting process the full bench at the High Court approves it.
The court asked the government to furnish the details about the offices that are being shifted to Vizag and also the number of employees that are being relocated. The government was advised to approach the triangular expert committee if they wished to proceed with their case.
At first, the AP government submitted a report to the court claiming that only the CM camp office is being shifted to Vizag. But later, Amaravati farmers filed a case at the High Court claiming that the government is deceptively shifting all major administrative offices to Vizag in the disguise of the CM camp office. A stay order was issued on this matter and the government approached HC to get a favorable result but to no avail.
