Jagan Brings Unexpected Candidate for Narasaraopeta?

Published by

Narasaraopeta constituency gained the public’s attention after the sitting YCP MP from here Lavu Sri Krishna Deva Rayulu resigned from the post and quit YSRCP. This happened after Lavu was rejected the MP ticket by YCP as the party was firm on making a BC candidate contest from here.

It was vaguely speculated that YCP might field the party spokesperson Nagarjuna Yadav as Narasaraopeta MP but it was a risk to field an inexperienced candidate here. So all of a sudden, an unexpected name has come up and it is none other than Anil Kumar Yadav.

Anil Yadav is YCP’s sitting MLA from Nellore city and he is a trusted associate for Jagan. Going by the newest reports, he will not be given the MLA ticket in the 2024 polls and will instead be fielded in the Lok Sabha elections. Narasaraopeta is heavily dominated by the BC population and the YCP thinktank reportedly feels Anil Yadav is the right candidate for this seat.

After Lavu’s departure, the YCP high command will be fixated on winning this seat at any cost. Amidst the reports that Lavu could join TDP and contest from the same constituency again in 2024, YCP might have felt the need to field an experienced and fierce candidate here to take on their defiant leader. That could be why Anil Yadav’s name came up all of a sudden.

But YCP hasn’t officially announced Anil’s name from Narasaraopeta so the wait continues for a few more days. Lavu Krishna Deva Rayulu is a soft-spoken and calm candidate while Anil is aggressive and loud. If they are put against each other in Narasaraopeta, the contrast will make for an interesting watch.
