Telangana will forever remember revolutionary poet and singer Gaddar who made invaluable contributions to the Telangana statehood movement. Right before the Telangana election, he announced allegiance to the Congress party but sadly passed away right before Congress leapfrogged to power. Moved by this, Revanth Reddy, during the election campaign, announced that he would set up a statue of Gaddar once Congress came to power.
CM Revanth has now stood by his word and he has commissioned the assembling of Gaddar’s statue at Tank Bund. The government passed a relevant order to the revenue department to allot a piece of land at Tank Bund or a nearby area for the assembling of Gaddar’s statue.
With the official order passed from the government’s end, it won’t be long before a statue of the revolutionary Gaddar comes up at the famous Tank Bund. This process is starting before the Lok Sabha election and it is projected to bring goodwill to the Revanth government. But more than political motives, Revanth had emotionally promised to set up Gaddar’s statue after coming to power and he is doing so in just two months after becoming the CM.
With the Gaddar statue at Tank Bund, prioritization of allotting special schemes for Telangana movement fighters, and allocation of MLC post for professor Kodandaram, Revanth is ticking the right boxes before Congress heads for Lok Sabha polls. He is moving strategically to gain one over Congress and BJP.
