Ruling party in Andhra Pradesh YSR Congress has been facing a troublesome situation in Mylavaram with the rebellion of the sitting MLA Vasantha Krishna Prasad. He took the rebellion to the next stage by holding a press meet today. He didn’t vent out anger on Jagan or YCP but explained the situation meticulously.
The Mylavaram MLA mentioned that Jagan didn’t consult any of Vijayawada or Guntur YCP public representatives when deciding to shift the capital from Amaravati. “When I said there will be a public outcry if we break our word on the capital after forming the government, no one, including Jagan, paid heed to me”.
Vasantha Krishna Prasad expressed his disarray by saying his own party MLAs tortured him for nearly 1 and a half years by tying his hands when it came to administration.
He made one more revelation as he said “The party asked me to hold press meets and abuse Chandra Babu and Lokesh, but it wasn’t my kind of political approach so I turned it down. Even Jagan himself asked me how the party high command could trust me if I wasn’t abusing Babu and Lokesh.”
“To my understanding, I was the MLA only for certain parts of Mylavaram and the rest of the portion was under someone else’s control. Minister Jogi Ramesh started to dominate the proceedings in my constituency. When I complained against it, my plea wasn’t heard in the party.”
The MLA said he has three options in front of him now with one being retiring from politics, and the other two being continuing with YSRC or moving to any other party. He announced that his upcoming political move would be made public in the coming days.
Vasantha is reportedly considering the idea of leaving YSRC and joining TDP. This got instigated after YCP appointed Tirupathi Rao as Mylavaram in-charge.
