It is a matter of time before TDP and JSP, possibly in alliance with BJP announce their candidates for the forthcoming assembly and Lok Sabha elections. With this, the demand for MLA/MP tickets has also gone up steeply. But there was an interesting incident at the JSP office yesterday after Pawan Kalyan asked to return the donation cheques that came in for JSP.
Reportedly, JSP has been receiving hefty donation cheques from wealthy individuals in Andhra Pradesh. While a few of these cheques are solely for the progress of the party, a few come with added strings. After handing out hefty cheques for JSP, a few individuals are reportedly asking for MLA/MP tickets in return.
These incidents have angered Pawan Kalyan and he reportedly asked his team to return the cheques from individuals who are asking for MLA and MP tickets in return. Following these orders, Pawan’s team in Jana Sena dialed up aspiring candidates who gave the cheques and returned them. On Tuesday alone, 7 cheques were returned from the JSP office, according to a report from a Telugu media agency.
According to the reports, Pawan Kalyan is not interested in accepting cheques from people who have the sole intention of getting MLA and MP tickets by coming in the last minute. Pawan already announced that he will give tickets only to candidates who have the best-computed chance of winning their seats. He is not getting lured by these big cheques.
