Just two months after the completion of the assembly elections in Telangana, the focus has moved to the Lok Sabha elections which are arriving in April or May. KCR is looking to bring back the lost morale of BRS leaders by scoring well in the MP polls and Congress, in its attempt, is looking to build on the momentum from the assembly polls and swipe away BRS.
Going by the media communication from Congress senior Jagga Reddy, Congress is following the “Akarsh” model for the MP polls by welcoming 20 BRS MLAs into the party.
Jagga Reddy communicated to the media that 20 BRS MLAs are ready to join Congress and they are ready to make the move if they get the nod from Congress. ‘I have intimated this to our CM Revanth Reddy also. My opinion is that these MLAs should be brought into our party as soon as possible. We will bring them into Congress no matter how hard KCR tries to keep ahold of them. Even if he guards them day and night, we will bring them.”
Jagga Reddy ambitiously said this BRS to Congress shift of 20 MLAs will be completed by the time Lok Sabha elections are held. If this really happens, then BRS could take a deadly blow. On the contrary, 20 MLAs leaving BRS at once and joining Congress also looks too ambitious to happen in real.
We have recently seen BRS MP Venkatesh Netha and former deputy CM Rajaiah joining Congress. Can Congress pull off a much much larger coupe by welcoming 20 BRS MLAs?
