In a sudden shift of stance with regard to the BJP, TDP supremo N. Chandrababu Naidu showered praises on Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
He said that Modi has been promoting both India and Indians during all his foreign trips. Modi has been trying to increase the visibility of India in the world, he said.
By 2047, which means 100 years after Independence, Indians will lead the world on all fronts and 30 per cent of them would be Telugu people, Naidu said.
This sudden change in his tune is being attributed to the upcoming Assembly and general elections.
Ahead of the elections, it has forged an alliance with the Jana Sena which is already having a tie-up with the BJP. Just a week ago, Naidu even flew to Delhi and held a meeting with Union Home Minister Amit Shah too but there has been no concrete positive talk about the alliance.
The only solace is Shah announcing about the entry of new friends into the NDA, a couple of days ago. At the same time, Shah also said that their friends in AP might also be a part of the NDA in the coming days but this cannot be construed as a green signal for the TDP.
Three days ago, YCP boss and Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy rushed to Delhi and held three meetings back to back with the BJP top brass.
With the BJP top leaders trying to maintain equal distance from the TDP and YCP, even political analysts are unable to decipher towards which the national party would be inclined.
