Minister Roja retaliated to APCC chief Y.S. Sharmila’s hot comments against her. The minister countered Sharmila’s remarks against her and said that AP Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan alone is YSR’s son in true sense. While Jagan is striving to make YSR’s ideals into reality, Sharmila is aiming at YSR’s assets, Roja said, alleging that Sharmila was indirectly trying to benefit TDP chief N. Chandrababu Naidu’s interests.
Roja called upon the people to identify the real heir of Rajanna (YSR). While Jagananna is moving ahead, despite hindrances in his way, and making YSR ideals into a reality, Sharmila is just focusing on YSR’s property, she said.
“Except for claiming to be YSR’s bidda, did Sharmila do any exemplary work to elevate YSR’s name and fame? Till some time ago, she kept claiming that she was Telangana bidda as she was born and brought up there. She asked the Telangana public to support her claiming that she belonged to that region. She said she would serve the people in Telangana but now, she sings a different tune, leaving the YSRTP which she had established to the wind,” Roja pointed out.
Roja lambasted Sharmila for joining hands with the Congress which had included her father YSR’s name in the FIR after his death, the party which divided Andhra Pradesh and even failed to accord special status to the state. Sharmila is dancing to the tunes of the Congress and spewing venom at her own brother Jagan in Andhra Pradesh, the minister said.
“In fact, Jagan is the real heir of YSR as he is striving to make the latter’s ideals a reality. Jagan is serving the poor and trying to ensure that they remember YSR’s name by enjoying the benefits of different schemes,” she said.
“Even in the face of many odds and being jailed, Jagan is still standing firm on YSR’s ideals but Sharmila joined the Congress which did injustice to YSR’s family and is making his soul writhe in pain.”
In the past, Sharmila termed herself as “Jagananna vadilina baanam”. Roja rephrased the same slogan and said that Sharmila is “Chandrababu vadilina baanam”. Sharmila entered the political fray in Andhra Pradesh to benefit Naidu by splitting the votes, she said.
Yesterday, Sharmila fumed at Roja and said that the minister was involved in corruption and that her husband and brothers were assisting her to carry out illegal activities in sand and gravel mining, encroaching private lands.
