The Lok Sabha elections this year are of quintessential importance for BJP and Congress. Though BJP is the conventionally stronger party, Congress’s resurgence in south by sweeping Karnataka and Telangana has infused new energy. But the immediate problem for Congress is to work on the accounts of the national party that are allegedly frozen by Modi government.
AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge has tweeted that the bank accounts of the Congress party are frozen by the Modi government.
“Power drunk Modi Govt has frozen the accounts of the country’s largest Opposition party – the Indian National Congress – just before the Lok Sabha elections. This is a deep assault on India’s Democracy1” Kharge tweeted as he claimed that the accounts of the Congress party are frozen by Modi.
He added that the UNCONSTITUTIONAL money collected by the BJP would be utilized by them for elections, but the money collected by Congress through CROWDFUNDING shall be sealed!
We appeal to the Judiciary to save the multi-party system in this country and protect India’s Democracy. We will take to the streets and fight strongly against this autocracy, Kharge concluded on the matter. The facts of the allegations are to be verified but if the BJP government really froze the accounts of Congress before the Lok Sabha elections, it could throw a negative vibe on the saffron brigade as it will be seen as an unconstitutional move by the public.
