Who is Jagan’s Script Writer?

With just two months left until the general elections, YSRCP chief and AP CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has intensified his verbal attacks against the opposition parties. He is also leading the election battle by touring the state for Siddham meetings. Jagan’s speeches, filled with rhetoric and witty one-liners, are gaining significant attention in masses.

So far, he has delivered speeches at three Siddham meetings (Bheemili, Denduluru, and Raptadu) held thus far. CM Jagan repeatedly mentions words such as Arjuna, Sri Krishna, and Dusthachastutyam, thus the speeches got religious touch.

In the other day’s Siddham meet at Raptadu, Jagan brings interesting comparison between the three election symbols – Fan, Cycle, and Tea Glass – is also garnering attention.

Jagan is playing to the gallery, making his speeches interactive by asking the crowd to perform certain actions (tapping the mike, folding shirt sleeves, waving hands in disagreement over Naidu’s welfare schemes, etc.).

The major problem with Jagan’s speeches is that despite having a strong script, the way Jagan reads them makes the speech sound artificial. What if Jagan gave these powerful speeches as he did while he was in opposition? That would make a huge impact, opines a few political observers.

Both supporters and opponents keenly listen to Jagan’s speeches, which throws light on his speechwriter. The identity of Jagan’s speechwriter and team remains a mystery.

As we can see, even Chandrababu’s recent speeches have undergone a significant makeover. A senior politician like Naidu using dialogues like ‘Kurchu Madathapetti’ is a new trend in politics aimed at attracting the masses.

However, the impact of these speeches on the elections, and whether they will translate into votes and seats for the ruling party, remains to be seen.
