Gorantla Butchaiah Chowdary is one of the senior most leaders in Telugu Desam and he has been with the party nearly from its inception. But he has been put in pressure cooker situation due to the latest political developments in Rajahmundry Rural constituency.
Butchaiah, who withstood the YCP wave in 2019 and won from Rajahmundry Rural is pushing for the MLA ticket again in the coming election. On the contrary, there was a media campaign that Pawan Kalyan is pushing hard for this ticket and TDP might be obliged to sidetrack Butchaiah and give the ticket to Janasena. But the senior leader asked his followers not to believe in these YCP-planted media rumors and assured them he would contest from Rajahmundry rural.
However, Butchaiah Chowdary is reportedly in high-tension mode after the latest comment from Pawan Kalyan. The Janasena boss said the Rajahmundry Rural MLA ticket will be with JSP no matter what. He remarked that Kandula Durgesh is not just a Janasena loyalist but also a man who is close to him personally so he vowed to push as hard as he can to secure Rajahmundry Rural ticket to Durgesh.
If Pawan Kalyan is so firm on getting a particular ticket, then Chandrababu might also have to oblige to the request as there is the alliance norm to follow. Pawan Kalyan is confidently saying he is ready to meet Chandrababu even 10 times if that is what is needed to get the Rajahmundry ticket. With such persistence from Janasena and main ally Pawan Kalyan, Rajahumdry ticket has quickly become a priced possession.
The end result is that Gotanla Butchaiah, aged over 80, is extremely tense about his sitting MLA seat. The gravity of the situation is such that the senior most leader might push for Rajahmundry ticket till the last minute and if that doesn’t happen, he might settle for any other constituency ticket that is proposed by TDP.
