As it turns out, YS Jagan’s YSR Congress will be the only party that will not have any alliance in Andhra Pradesh as all the other opposition parties are collaborating and joining forces. Telugu Desam is pairing with Janasena and BJP, and this triangular alliance could be officially announced in a couple of weeks.
Andhra Pradesh Congress president YS Sharmila has materialized an alliance in her own capacity as she met the representatives of the CPI and CPM at the Congress office today. The meeting ended successfully with the three parties mutually agreeing to form an alliance.
The Congress party will ally with CPI and CPM for the elections and this will be yet another triangular alliance in AP after the imminent triangular alliance between TDP, JSP, and BJP.
The Congress party is showing some sort of life after Sharmila’s induction. Congress lost deposits in all 175 assembly constituencies in the last election and the situation is marginally better this term, as reportedly, there are multiple aspirants for Congress tickets in certain segments. The newly enforced alliance with CPI and CPM will only enhance Congress’s vote share, albeit minorly.
