AP BJP Gives ‘Mixed’ Signals On Alliance

Published by

Andhra Pradesh BJP is keeping Telugu Desam and Janasena waiting with regard to the triangular TDP-JSP-BJP alliance which looked likely to take flight after Chandrababu met Amit Shah in Delhi. But BJP has not given assertive clarity on this topic, and on top of that, the party has been throwing mixed signals.

Even today, AP BJP head Daggubati Purandeshwari hinted that BJP will operate alone in Andhra Pradesh. She didn’t utter a single word about their ally, Janasena boss Pawan Kalyan holding a huge public meeting along with TDP yesterday.

Purandeshwari spoke solely about BJP’s interests in AP as she claimed that the saffron party gained a lot of ground in the state. “BJP will become a strong political entity after the elections. Only BJP will operate as the main opposition party in AP after the election.”

The AP BJP head saying only BJP will solely operate as the main opposition and no utterance of the alliance aspect could be considered a strong hint that BJP is going solo. This isn’t what is expected after TDP and Janasena reserved a few seats for BJP during their seat distribution process.

Reacting to the situation, a senior political observer remarked that time is running out for BJP to finalize an alliance, if they are inclined towards the idea. This waiting game and mixed signals are not going to help anybody.
