YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, the incumbent CM of AP and YSRCP chief, is facing anti-incumbency in the state. While the opposition parties have already united in the state, he has got a fresh headache in the form of his sisters. While one is his own sister YS Sharmila, the second one is his cousin YS Sunitha Reddy, daughter of Babayi YS Vivekananda Reddy.
YS Sunitha addressed the media in the national capital New Delhi and asked the public not to vote for her brother YS Jagan. In a direct allegation, Sunitha accused CM Jagan of ‘protecting’ the murderers of her father. She further stated that if Jagan is voted to power again, justice for her wouldn’t be prevailed. Sunitha alleged Jagan of misusing power and helping only her close aides.
While Sharmila has been raising her voice and venting out her angst against Jagan Mohan Reddy and his failures, Sunitha joined the chorus. Sunitha’s addition is expected to give a jolt to Jagan and Co.
Sharmila is raising pertinent issues like Special Category Status, Liquor and Sand policies, failing to bring Liquor ban, 3 capitals and increasing debts in the state. Sunitha is now voicing about the law and order issue and how goons and rowdies are safely safeguarded and getting shelter under Jagan’s rule.
Meanwhile, Pawan Kalyan is enthralling crowds, particularly young voters and Kapu voters, with his powerful speeches and attracting the people. TDP on the other hand has a traditional vote base. With so many anti-forces working against the ruling party, the going may get tougher for CM Jagan. The change of candidates is also a first-of-its-kind experiment and needs to be seen how far it’d benefit or backfire the ruling party. Overall, YSRCP leaders and cadres, who are deeply worried, seem to have caught off-guard.
