AP cabinet minister Gummanuru Jayaram has put an end to the long-standing tussle with YSR Congress as he announced that he is quitting the Jagan party immediately. He immediately shifted loyalties as he is on the way to meet Chandrababu Naidu today.
Gummanur has been at loggerheads with Jagan after losing his Alur MLA ticket as a part of Jagan’s shuffling plan. He distanced himself from the YCP group and kept in touch with the TDP hierarchy. After this dillydallying phase for the last few weeks, he finally quit YCP and took the yellow oath.
Gummanur will be formally joining TDP in the presence of Chandrababu Naidu today and he will partake in the “Jayaho BC” meeting that is being chaired by Naidu today.
The minister stated “Jagan asked me to contest from Kurnool Lok Sabha segment and I wasn’t in approval of it. There are two people near Jagan, Sajjala and Dhanunjaya Reddy who are ruining the atmosphere for everyone.” He expects to retain the Alur MLA ticket from TDP this term.
